ONO Trio brings together three young cellists from diverse backgrounds—Caparica (Portugal), Changchun (China), and Schmalkalden (Germany). Their paths converged at the HFMT Köln, where they were shaped by solo and chamber music influences from renowned musicians such as S. Müller-Hornbach, K. Dill, A. Puliaev, J. Schwab, Wen-Sinn Yang, A. Winter, G. Schwabe, S. Krams, and many others.
Their debut as a trio—Pirii Pimentel Rodrigues, Julia Pesavento, and Mufei Feng—came at the Finissage of Yoko Ono’s artwork Add Color (Refugee Boat) in Dortmund. The overwhelming response to their performance led to further collaborations, including projects with Les Lumières from Cologne.
Their repertoire spans a rich spectrum, from Baroque, Classical, and Romantic works to contemporary compositions, cross-genre explorations, and influences from Latin American and Asian traditions. Passionate about innovation, ONO Trio actively collaborates with emerging composers from Portugal, Germany, and China, striving to create a platform for modern and contemporary music.
